Overwhelmed

It’s almost as if my life gently shaped around my name like cool ocean water shapes an island in the middle of nowhere. Abandoned, like the old school house down my street that I’ve always wanted to visit but my parents always said no. Watching the beautiful stars at night with my friends and going into the slightly cool water after a hot sauna at camp. Why I love these things, I don’t know. I guess I just don’t understand. Although, I don’t seem to understand many things.
I'm the kind of person that knows what I stand up for in the back of my mind but doesn't have all the confidence to speak up. I know the difference between right and wrong. I like to keep things to myself, I usually go with the flow and I’ll never be a leader. I am, Ashley and this is a snitch of my life.
Cheerleading is a sport. Well, in my opinion of course. Sure, maybe we don’t have a competition but we do have many expectations of ourselves and others. We have long practices, great attitudes towards our coaches and the players around us and we love what we do. Sounds like basketball or football to me! I won’t let anyone convince me that it’s just some stupid activity because I love it with all my heart and I have no regret in admitting it.
Without my family and friends, I’d be nothing! They are the ones that make life worthwhile living and I could never thank them enough for all of the things they have done for me. I think back to my childhood and smile, but when I look forward to my future, my eyes widen and my smile expands because I have so much to look ahead to.
Falling slowly behind my family and friends are my animals. I have loved all kinds of animals since birth and I will always will. They're so special to me because they always know how to show affection when I'm mad or upset. It's kinda like a second best friend. And you can never have enough friends ;)
I hate cancer. It's definitely one of the most scariest things in life and I hope to never encounter it face to face. My Mom, both Aunts, and Uncle have all conquered it but it took my grandpa's life in 2008. I'll always remember him, with all my heart. I sit and think about all the wonderful memories I spent with him and the beautiful person he was. There's not a day I haven't went without thinking about him and there won't be a day I do.
